Natural Outdoor Nursery Photography

For nurseries with a garden, outdoor space or Forest School setting, outdoor photography is a wonderful way to capture children in their element.

Rather than asking children to sit still and smile at the camera, I let them explore, play and have fun. I photograph the little moments as they happen — whether that's running through the garden, climbing, investigating something interesting or simply enjoying time outdoors with their friends.

And yes, sometimes that means I have children hanging off my legs because they want me to play too! 

I spend time getting to know the children and building a rapport with them, which helps those natural smiles and genuine laughs appear. There is no forced “say cheese” smile here.

The result is a collection of fun, natural photographs that really capture their personalities.

Best of all, because the children are outside enjoying themselves, the photography can fit naturally into the nursery routine without disrupting their normal day.

Traditional Nursery Portraits

If you prefer something a little more classic, I also offer traditional nursery portraits using a backdrop.

I bring everything needed and create a simple portrait setup within the nursery, giving parents the opportunity to purchase beautiful, timeless photographs of their little ones.

Even with traditional portraits, I don't believe in simply sitting a child in front of a camera and asking them to smile.

I take the time to chat, play, make them laugh and help them feel comfortable. Some children will happily give me a huge grin straight away, while others need a little more encouragement — and that's completely fine.

Every child is different, and I work with their personality rather than against it.

I know how busy nursery life is, so I make the photography process as easy as possible for you and your team.

Once the photographs have been taken, all viewing, ordering and purchasing is handled online directly with the parents.

This means there is minimal administration for the nursery. You don't need to collect orders, handle money, organise forms or distribute photographs.

Parents receive everything they need to view their child's photographs and place their order online, making the whole process simple and convenient for everyone.
